S.C.O.T.S offers a complete service to companies who wish to have the services of a safety specialist without having to employ them on a full-time basis. The following service modules are designed to meet specific needs of employing organisations. Although each is an independent module they can be combined/ partly combined to provide the specific services for you.
This is a review of your total safety management system and compares it to both industry norms and legislative requirements. This will involve speaking to all levels of management and staff to determine their understanding of your systems, auditing your existing paperwork to determine adequacy and a physical inspection to identify how effectively your systems are working.
The audit report will identify strengths and weak areas within your organisation and help to prioritise short, med and long term plans which will enable you to maintain and improve existing health and safety standards.
This is a periodic inspection of a work premises/sites to measure actual safety performance. All inspections are developed to meet your working environment and can be rated to allow you to see improvements more clearly. Unlike most inspection regimes our inspection format will clearly identify existing strengths, improvements made and will prioritise and agree target dates for any weak areas identified.
We can conduct risk assessments on aspects of work which could include General Risk Assessments, Manual Handling Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Display Screen Equipment Assessments, Work Equipment Assessments, Working at Height etc. It may be more cost effective to train your own team to conduct any type of assessment and we can also carryout this training.
We can develop or review/update your Health and Safety Policy, this includes the Statement of Intent (your commitment towards managing health and safety), Organisation Section (this identifies your management structure and details general and specific responsibilities of each level within your organisation) and the policy elements which guide you on how to manage the various aspects of health and safety that are relevant to your own work activities.
We can act as your competent person for health and safety as required by the Management of Health and Safety Regulations, you can use our name in tender proposals, we provide advice and information on any aspect of health and safety, you receive our update service (we send you information on any health and safety changes that may affect your organisation, or accidents that are relevant to your work sector).
We can, as required, conduct accident investigations, training need analysis, bespoke in-house training designed to meet your exact requirements, attend safety committee meetings, represent you at meetings with your clients on health and safety, assist with insurance investigations, etc.
